Road & Maintenance
Mission
Technical committee with the mission to recommend the following:
- New equipment, machinery and available innovations;
- Grading techniques, such as selective grading;
- Types of material used;
- Asphalt vs gravel;
- Road intervention techniques.
By the end of September 2010, the committee will make a series of recommendations to the Municipal Council for possible municipal regulations or recommendations to the Public Works Department on how to intervene on municipal roads.
Strategic projects
Levelling of roads - experimental project
Objectives:
To improve road foundations on the territory. Begin with Papineau, Brandy, Iron Hill, Stagecoach, Tibbits Hill, Centre - McPherson to Iron Hill until the depletion of budget.
Orientations:
To correct problems related to road draining and sediment towards ditches and streams, replace old culverts and lay rocks at both ends of the culverts to prevent movement. Install geotextile where needed to correct road foundations and surfacing water veins which damage them.
Implementation:
Beginning of May until the end of June

Communication Plan
Objectives:
To inform the population of the Public Works schedule. Information to be published in local newspapers: the Guide (Eng. and Fr.), Brome County News, Tempo, as well as web site, weekly bulletin of the Town.
Orientation:
Given that this Public Works budget is the largest of the municipality, it is important to inform citizens about the Public Works service and its activities. Inform citizens on safety techniques and material used. The purpose is also to recognize and appreciate the work done by our employees of the Public Works.
