Saturday, July 18 | 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. | Carke Terrace
On Saturday, July 18, RAPPEL will be at Carke Terrace (393 Bondville Street) for a public awareness event focused on boat cleaning. This free activity aims to help prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species through the use of a mobile boat-washing station.
Boaters will be able to have their boats, kayaks and other watercraft washed on site and learn about the “Clean – Drain – Dry” method to apply between each outing on a body of water: clean the watercraft, trailer and equipment that come into contact with water, thoroughly drain any compartments that may retain water (bilge, motor, live well, ballast, etc.), and allow everything to dry completely before launching elsewhere.
Information brochures will also be distributed to promote best practices and help prevent the introduction and spread of aquatic invasive species.
A fun educational booth hosted by GUEPE will offer family-friendly activities focused on aquatic invasive species and lake protection. Residents are warmly invited to take part in this event and contribute to the health of Brome Lake.
Saturday, July 25 | Douglass Beach
The Granby Zoo is coming to Brome Lake for a day dedicated to biodiversity awareness and the conservation of endangered species! Visit an engaging and colourful educational booth filled with discoveries for the whole family. A perfect outing to spark the curiosity of young nature enthusiasts.
These activities are free and open to everyone. We look forward to seeing you there!
